Safeguarding Policy
Skillecta Training and Consultancy LLP

Effective from: April 2026

In Plain Language

The safety of children and young people is our highest priority. We have zero tolerance for abuse. We screen our people, moderate our platforms, and respond immediately to any concern. If you see something, report it — we will act.

1. Commitment

Skillecta is dedicated to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all users — especially children, young people, and vulnerable groups. We recognise our duty of care to every learner who interacts with our platforms and programs.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals who act on behalf of or interact with Skillecta:

  • All employees, contractors, and interns
  • Trainers, facilitators, and content creators
  • Partner organisations, institutional staff, and volunteers
  • Any third party with access to Skillecta platforms or user data

3. Legal Framework

This policy is informed by and aligns with:

  • Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) — India
  • Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE) — India
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP)— India
  • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
  • Applicable child protection laws in all jurisdictions where we operate

4. Key Principles

  • Zero tolerance for any form of abuse, harassment, exploitation, or neglect
  • Best interests of the child guide all decisions
  • Respect, dignity, and inclusion for every individual
  • Proactive protection of vulnerable groups, including children, persons with disabilities, and marginalised communities
  • Mandatory reporting of all safeguarding concerns

5. Code of Conduct

  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times
  • No unsupervised one-on-one interaction with minors — all interactions must be observable
  • Use only official Skillecta communication channels — no private messaging with learners
  • Do not share personal contact details with minors or their families outside institutional channels
  • Report any concerns immediately — do not investigate independently

6. Recruitment & Screening

  • Background verification checks for all personnel who interact with children or access child data
  • Mandatory safeguarding training before deployment — refreshed annually
  • Safeguarding obligations included in all employment and partnership agreements
  • Clear consequences for policy violations, up to and including termination and legal action

7. Digital Safeguarding

Given that our platform involves AI-powered interactions with learners, we implement specific digital safeguards:

  • AI content safety filters — prevent generation of harmful, inappropriate, or age-inappropriate content
  • Moderated interactions — all AI-student interactions are logged and auditable by institutional administrators
  • No private channels — the platform does not enable private messaging between adults and children
  • Automated flagging — content or interactions related to violence, self-harm, abuse, or exploitation are flagged for immediate human review
  • Secure platform access — role-based permissions, authentication, and audit trails

8. Designated Safeguarding Lead

Skillecta maintains a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsible for:

  • Receiving and acting on all safeguarding reports
  • Liaising with institutional safeguarding teams, law enforcement, and child protection authorities as required
  • Ensuring all personnel receive appropriate safeguarding training
  • Conducting periodic reviews of safeguarding procedures
  • Secure platform access — role-based permissions, authentication, and audit trails

3. Information We Collect

Response Protocol
  • Report immediately — any concern, suspicion, or disclosure must be reported without delay
  • First response within 24 hours — the DSL acknowledges receipt and initiates protective action
  • Investigation — thorough, confidential investigation by designated safeguarding leads
  • Corrective & preventive measures — implemented based on findings
  • Full documentation — all incidents are recorded securely with restricted access
  • Referral to authorities — where required under POCSO or other applicable law

All reports are treated in strict confidence. No person will face retaliation for making a good-faith safeguarding report.
